It's all happening here at English Woodlands, with the best spring colour we have seen for a long time. The warm weather has encouraged stronger colours and a burst of growth which is joyous to witness!
This is Laburnum 'Yellow Rocket', also known as the golden rain tree. It's an upright version of the much-loved Laburnum, and highly suitable for smaller spaces.
Spring blossom is all around, and this blushing bride, Prunus 'Shogetsu' is adptly named. It's looking glorious against the blue sky.
Here is some wonderful Wisteria 'Okayama', looking and smelling amazing, trained onto a trellis
There are many more blooms delighting our senses here at English Woodlands. Please do come and see! But remember that we are always closed on bank holidays and on Sundays.
Meanwhile, please don't neglect to water your newly planted trees and shrubs. The weather has been exceptionally dry during spring so far, and plants need our help until their roots are well-established. Look out for signs that plants are struggling: curled leaves, droopy new growth, dropped buds and dry soil or compost when you investigate beneath the surface. Make watering young and newly planted trees and shrubs part of your routine and try not to allow them to become stressed. If there are visible signs of dehydration, you have left it too long!
